Features: Language and the History of Material Culture of Ethnic Groups was a project funded by the Doctoral Program of Humanities and Social Sciences Research under the "Nineth Five-Year Plan" of the Ministry of Education. It was completed in October 2000 and is now compiled into a book for publication. The book includes linguistic studies on the origins and spread of material culture such as crops, food, architecture, textiles, casting, and toponyms of southern ethnic groups, as well as an examination and elaboration of northern ethnic groups' material culture based on linguistic data.
