Features: The program "News" of China National Radio was launched on October 1, 1994. It is broadcast at 7:00 AM and 9:00 PM every day on the main program, with a duration of 20 minutes. "News" is a news commentary program and one of the opinion news columns. Since its launch, it has consistently adhered to the correct guidance of public opinion and has gained widespread influence and recognition in society. The program was selected as one of the "Top Ten Famous Columns of Central News Organizations" by the Central Propaganda Department for two consecutive years in 1995 and 1996. In 1999 and 2001, it was awarded the "China News Column Award" by the China Journalists Association. In recent years, "News" has produced and broadcast programs such as "Jiangsu Anti-Fraud," "Bazhou Shooting Case," "Xiaoliang Phenomenon," and "Mental Health Investigation of Huang Sherong," which have generated strong social. In 2002, the program was honored by "The Southern Weekly" with the title "Outstanding Performance in Promoting Public Opinion Freedom."
The 19 articles included in this book are selected from the programs broadcast by "News" between December 2001 and September 2002. They cover fields such as economy, law, education, cultural ethics, medicine, real estate, and telecommunications. The reported events vary in scale, but all reflect major issues facing Chinese society at the current stage and are worth attention. The book is divided into three parts, with most of the articles accompanied by journalist's notes. Through these notes, readers and listeners can learn about the journalists' interview experiences and many emotions that are not expressed in the reports, including some little-known behind-the-scenes stories.
