Features: The classical concertos by Bach and others selected in this volume, although all using positions below the fifth, hold extremely high artistic value. They are classic works in the treasure trove of violin art and are still regarded as encore pieces by world-renowned violinists today. Therefore, when learning these works, our goal is not merely to improve technique but to fully grasp the artistic style of classical music—balanced, harmonious, and perfect. To achieve this, the following points must be taken seriously:
1. Correct intonation. Pay attention to the precise position of each note within the key and harmony, and practice to the point where every press is accurate.
2. Accurately convey rhythm. Ensure the rhythm of each bar and bowing is even and stable, with precise note durations. The downbeat, ending note, and rests are the most easily overlooked aspects and must be treated with care.
3. Strive for high-quality tone production. The sound should be pure and beautiful, with even and fluid bowing. The tone should be consistent across all parts of the bow (e.g., frog and tip), with minimal trace of bow changes, shifts, or position changes. Vibrato should be relaxed and natural, with consistent amplitude and frequency during finger changes, without interruption.
4. Correctly understand and express the sectional and directional structure of the piece’s form. Accurately reflect the nature of bowing techniques, accents, and ornamentation, while arranging changes in volume, tempo, and emotion to give the piece a cohesive vitality and overall sense.
Finally, and most importantly, it is essential to strengthen learning in all aspects, strive to improve one’s cultural and artistic nourishment, and thereby enhance musical understanding and expression.
