It not only became a focal point of contention among imperialist powers but also resonated with the modern transformation of Chinese society, becoming a typical region where various cultures converged and clashed. As a result, the historical panorama that unfolded in this region became even more colorful and complex. Many historical events were not only locally significant but also had a nationwide impact. This book takes the major historical events in modern Northeast China that had a significant impact on the whole country as its main thread and discusses them in a thematic format. The book is divided into eight chapters, each exploring one of these themes. The content covers significant issues in modern Northeast Chinese history, such as famine issues, the spread and control of the plague in Northeast China, the Fengtian Consultative Assembly and the Northeast constitutional movement, the Fengtian Chamber of Commerce, the development and transformation of Northeast cities, the changes in folk culture, Japan's economic exploitation and financial control of Northeast China, and the colonization of Northeast Chinese newspapers.
