Features: The "wonderful sayings" selected from Mencius do not merely refer to aphorisms and that are insightful in reasoning, appropriately metaphorical, and vivid in expression, but also include the lively and profound fables in the book. This is done to provide readers with a more comprehensive understanding of the original text. For ease of reading and comprehension, the original text has been selected and categorized into chapters, making it clear at a glance and convenient for reference. After each passage of the original text, a colloquial translation is provided in the form of "main idea of the original text." For original texts that are highly representative of Mencian thought but also have limitations of the era or ideology, brief "comments" are added. Original texts that are purely feudal dross or obscure and difficult to understand have not been selected. This is a preliminary attempt to introduce an ancient classic.
