Features: The original text in this book is selected from the annotated edition by Zhonghua Book Company, excluding four chapters such as "The Annals of Emperor Xiaowu." The interpretation of the original text is based on multiple annotations and carefully determined. According to the requirements of the "Selected Witty Sayings" format, it should extract concise and aphoristic statements. However, when it comes to the Records of the Grand Historian, there is a special case: the author's essence is primarily expressed through typical stories and characters' activities, with relatively fewer witty sayings that are detached from the plot. Nevertheless, many brilliant story excerpts contain a holistic meaning equivalent to "witty sayings," some of which are the origins of widely used idioms, such as "spare three sides of the net" and "pointing a deer as a horse." These are hard to abandon. Given this situation, the quoted original text in this book is inevitably somewhat lengthy and includes narrative elements. To make it as concise as possible, unnecessary sentences are sometimes omitted using ellipses. After each original text excerpt, in addition to a general colloquial interpretation, there is also a background introduction, event explanation, and a brief analysis.
