The role of chitosan (chitin), the sixth life element in ants, in sugar, proteins, vitamins, and minerals, which are the five major elements of life, has been discovered. Experiments have proven that chitin has a significant effect on promoting the growth of granulation tissue in wounds, increasing the speed of healing, inhibiting various bacteria, promoting endothelial growth, reducing fibrous tissue hyperplasia, and scar formation. Therefore, chitin has broad application value in the field of surgery, such as treating trauma and burns.
Activating cells and promoting microcirculation. Chitosan contains a component called glucosamine, which enhances the permeability of serum components and strengthens the adsorption ability of serum proteins. This lays the foundation for glucosamine to activate cells and promote microcirculation. Microcirculation refers to the blood circulation in the capillaries between small arteries and small veins. It is mainly composed of capillaries, which are the most widely distributed, thinnest-walled, and smallest-diameter blood vessels in the body. They are interconnected to form a network, covering the entire body and directly surrounding tissue cells, facilitating material exchange between blood and cells, providing nutrients, and removing waste. Since microcirculation is far from the heart and beyond the reach of systemic circulation, it relies on osmotic force and some capillary phenomena to complete blood circulation.
