Features: The complete set of "The Nanjing Massacre Documentation Project" consists of 25 volumes, totaling approximately 12 million words. The first eight published volumes comprehensively introduce important historical materials related to the Nanjing Massacre. These include historical archives of the Chinese army's fierce battles to defend the capital Nanjing against invading Japanese forces, a large amount of data on the burial of the bodies of victims of the Nanjing Massacre by Japanese troops, diaries, letters, memories, and testimonies of Japanese soldiers and officers who invaded China, written historical records by Westerners about the Nanjing Massacre, testimonies of survivors of the Nanjing Massacre, historical materials from the International Military Tribunal for the Far East and the Military Court of the Chinese Nationalist Government for the Prosecution of War Criminals, as well as a large number of post-war statistical materials by the Nationalist Government related to the Nanjing Massacre, covering all aspects of the massacre's history. These irrefutable facts present the historical truth of the time to the world. The materials collected in this book include historical archives of the Chinese Nationalist Army's fierce battles to defend the capital Nanjing against invading Japanese forces in December 1937, including the operational plans, battle strategies, combat orders, and their execution, military telegrams and correspondence between Chiang Kai-shek and senior Nationalist generals, battle reports and campaign summaries of the participating units, relevant reports and commentaries on the Nanjing Defense War of that time, and memoirs of the participants in the Nanjing Defense War, etc. After the Japanese forces occupied Nanjing City in 1937, they carried out a brutal large-scale massacre of civilians and Chinese soldiers who had laid down their arms. This was one of the rare and heinous crimes against humanity committed by Japanese fascists against the Chinese people in the history of World War II. Today, some people in Japan attempt to distort historical facts, conceal, and deny the atrocities of the Japanese forces in Nanjing. The official historical archives and oral historical records collected in this book provide invaluable firsthand materials for later generations to study the historical truth of the Anti-Japanese War and the "Nanjing Massacre" by the Japanese forces who invaded China.
