Features: This book is one of the research achievements of the "Promotion and Experiment of the Cultivation of Psychological Education Ability for Primary and Secondary School Teachers" project. It is a highly readable book compiled by teachers with rich teaching experience (including many online primary and secondary school music teachers), and it represents the continuous exploration, reflection, summarization, and research of all the teachers in the project under the guidance of psychological education theory. It is a summary of experience in music teaching, and more importantly, it is fertile ground for nurturing humanism. In the new century, China's basic music education has ushered in the largest and most intensive curriculum reform in its history. The promulgation of the National Music Curriculum Standards, the use of new teaching materials based on the Music Curriculum Standards, and the implementation of teaching that reflects the new curriculum philosophy have swept into the campuses of primary and secondary schools across the country, bringing brand-new changes to school music curricula. This wave of reform will strongly advance the process of quality education and achieve a historic shift in basic music education from a subject-centered and knowledge-centered approach to one that focuses on the development of every student. It will inevitably have a profound impact on the development of China's music education industry. For a long time, China's basic music education has faced a series of self-developmental issues: such as the positioning, nature, value, and philosophy of the curriculum, as well as curriculum objectives, content, teaching methods, and evaluation methods. These issues are not only related to the construction and development of basic music education curricula but are more importantly related to the music learning and development of primary and secondary school students. In the process of curriculum reform, many experts, scholars, researchers, and music teachers have been shocked by a current phenomenon in music education: why can music, which can bring people infinite beauty and joy, become an unpopular course in primary and secondary schools! When deeply reflecting and re-evaluating basic music education, we should pay special attention to an important factor affecting music teaching and music learning—psychology. In a sense, music learning is an "inner journey," and the formation of musical quality is a continuous process of internalization. However, in traditional music teaching, we rarely focus on students' thoughts or consider their needs. Why do students learn music? What psychological needs do they have for music? Can they learn music in their own way? What kind of music teachers and teaching methods do they like? Ignoring and weakly researching these questions is one of the factors affecting the quality of our basic music education. In light of this, after reading the manuscript of "The Art of Music Psychological Education," I deeply felt that it is a very meaningful book for music education, music teaching, and music teachers. For music education, the publication of "The Art of Music Psychological Education" undoubtedly holds significant importance for the development of the emerging, interdisciplinary field of music education psychology in China. All educational behaviors in human society have corresponding psychological forms, and the research and development of music education psychology reflect the internalization and deepening process of music education, making it highly valuable for the reform and development of music education. From the perspective of music teaching, "The Art of Music Psychological Education" is not only concerned with theoretical issues in music education and teaching but also focuses on the practice of music teaching itself, which can be said to be the greatest feature of this book. Revolving around "teaching" and "learning," the book vividly portrays the rich, delicate, and subtle psychological activities between teachers and students, like a gentle stream, touching the hearts of readers. As we often say, music teaching is an art, but only when psychological education elements are integrated into it can one have a deeper understanding of this. For music teachers, "The Art of Music Psychological Education" should be a good teacher and friend. It not only lays a solid foundation for teachers in the research of music education and teaching psychology but also provides many teaching cases for reference. I believe that the music teachers who read this book will draw rich teaching nutrients from it, improving their own music teaching level. The editor-in-chief of "The Art of Music Psychological Education," Long Yajun, is a talented and ambitious young associate professor with a master's degree in music pedagogy. Although she teaches in a university, she is very familiar with the situation in the field of basic education and has a deep understanding of music curriculum reform. She has a particular theoretical depth in the study of the new music curriculum and is often seen publishing influential articles on the new music curriculum in important journals such as "China Music Education" and "Music Weekly." I remember when she asked for my opinion on the topic of this book, she said, "The progress of Chinese music education cannot be separated from the development of music education psychology research." I think she put it very aptly. Indeed, our research foundation in this area is still weak, especially in the field of music education practice, where research is relatively lagging. Therefore, in this sense, "The Art of Music Psychological Education" should be filling the gap in the psychological research of basic music education, which is indeed a cause for celebration. May "The Art of Music Psychological Education" become a friend to primary and secondary school music teachers. May "The Art of Music Psychological Education" play an important role in the new curriculum of basic education in music.
