Features: This series of books is published by Chongqing Publishing House. The editors are women from three different countries. Mei Ye, a Chinese-American lady, holds a Bachelor's degree in Law from Fudan University, China, and a Master's degree in Management from the University of North Carolina, USA. She is currently a consultant for McKinsey & Company in management consulting. Pan Lan, a Chinese-New Zealander lady, has worked in education in China for many years and has a deep understanding of aesthetics and art education. She has traveled extensively in Europe and America and has a profound insight into the differences in quality education and art environments experienced by Chinese and foreign children during their growth. Lu Hua, a lady with a Bachelor's degree in Literature, has worked as an editor in China's mainstream media, and her writing and editing works have won numerous national awards. Whether as professional women in the education industry or as mothers, the three ladies sincerely hope that children can learn more about the truth, goodness, and beauty from art, and shape a life of truth, goodness, and beauty through the nurturing of art. When compiling this series, they selected 99 famous paintings of different styles and schools, dividing them into nine books based on the themes of the paintings. Next to each painting, interactive columns have been designed.
"They Look at Famous Paintings" features the emotions expressed by children from different countries after viewing the paintings, using their unique understanding and language. The children's imaginative ideas can either make people laugh or leave them in awe. "I Look at Famous Paintings" provides space for young readers to express their emotions after viewing the paintings. "Knowledge in Paintings" and "Stories in Paintings" compile knowledge and stories related to the famous paintings. "Play While Viewing" offers brain-teasing games. "Look at Famous Paintings and Paint Your Own" encourages children to engage directly with the masters, approaching the paintings with a relaxed mindset and an equal perspective from a young age. By expressing their thoughts through their own hands, without any constraints, the more novel and creative, the better the artistic education.
To meet the needs of bilingual learning, the text in the books is presented in both Chinese and English, making them suitable for children who are just beginning to learn English. Experts believe that world-famous paintings, like famous music and literature, are all shining treasures in the spiritual wealth of humanity. The brushstrokes express the understanding of artists from various eras about the essence of truth, goodness, and beauty. Each painting is a condensation of the essence of its time, reflecting the cultural soul of individuals, nations, and eras, from small to large. Therefore, allowing children to immerse themselves in famous paintings and explore the scenery from the strokes and colors, to feel the breath of the masters to some extent and receive artistic and humanistic nurturing, is laying a solid foundation for them to grow into harmonious, healthy, and life-loving individuals in the future.
