Features: The Book of Songs is the first of the Six Classics and the oldest extant collection of poems. It contains 305 poems from the early Zhou Dynasty (11th century BC) to the mid-Spring and Autumn period (6th century BC). Only a small selection is included here. The Rites of Zhou selects five chapters. Among them, The Great Unity discusses the ideal of "the way of great unity, the world as one family" and the "night watchmen not closing doors" in the utopian society, as well as the "way of great unity hidden, the world as a family" and the era of "small prosperity" with ritual systems. The Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon, divided into Basic Questions and Spiritual Pivot, advocates "treating disease before it occurs" with a focus on prevention.
