Features: This book consists of fifteen chapters and systematically discusses translation techniques in medical English. In compiling it, the author strives to achieve the goals of being practical, concise, and accessible. The "practicality" is reflected in its ability to genuinely help medical students and healthcare professionals overcome various difficulties they may encounter during translation; "conciseness" is demonstrated through its easy-to-understand explanations, typical and practical examples, focusing on common and confusing issues in medical English literature that translators often face; while "accessibility" refers to its direct applicability in translation course teaching for various schools and training programs. The more than 2,100 examples included in the main text are selected from professional English textbooks for medical schools and articles related to medicine in College English, making them familiar to learners. Appendix I, Analysis of Difficult Sentences, contains over 200 relatively difficult-to-understand long sentences in medical English. They are primarily selected from English excerpts of medical school textbooks published by the People's Medical Publishing House and original medical English textbooks. The examples are arranged in ascending order of difficulty based on commonly used translation techniques in English. Each example is accompanied by sentence analysis and a reference translation. The sentence analysis entries provide detailed analysis and illustrative examples of the grammatical structure and idiomatic usage of the sentences. Appendix II, Glossary of Latin Terms, is included to address the recent gap in medical Latin teaching.
