Features: The diagnosis of ophthalmic diseases often relies on morphological examinations. Especially with the advancement of modern imaging technology, it enables quick and accurate judgments based on more intuitive imaging changes. A good imaging atlas is better than in-depth textual descriptions. For ophthalmologists, especially those with less experience and medical students, visual atlases are the best textbooks. The Department of Ophthalmology at Beijing Tongren Hospital, affiliated with Capital Medical University, has become one of the most important ophthalmic centers in China and a national key discipline. Currently, it boasts a team of renowned experts both domestically and internationally. The ophthalmology department receives over 1,500 patients daily and performs tens of thousands of surgeries each year, forming a set of diagnostic and treatment techniques with Tongren characteristics. It has also accumulated extensive clinical data, including a large number of exquisite imaging pictures, as well as precious images of rare and uncommon cases. These valuable resources are highly beneficial for the development of ophthalmology in China and the improvement of ophthalmic diagnosis and treatment. We believe that organizing and publishing these materials as a series of Tongren Ophthalmology Diagnostic and Therapeutic Atlases is undoubtedly meaningful for clinical work and is also our responsibility. With the strong support of the Beijing Municipal Press and Publication Administration and Beijing Science and Technology Press, this wish has finally been realized.
The published atlases include Atlas of Strabismus Diagnosis and Treatment, Atlas of Retinal Detachment Diagnosis and Differential Diagnosis, Atlas of Fundus Imaging Diagnosis, Atlas of Optical Coherence Tomography, Atlas of Ocular Surface Diseases, and Atlas of Eyelid Diseases and Surgery, among others. We believe that many more valuable ophthalmic atlases will be published in the future.
