Features: After the 1848 Revolution, the political atmosphere in Western Europe was generally tense. Realism developed and diverged amid contradictions. Some artists abandoned sharp political awareness and catered to the lifestyle of the middle class, choosing subjects from light and joyful life phenomena, with their painting styles becoming increasingly loose and bright. Therefore, Impressionism was both a product of modern life concepts and a result of the transformation of artistic language itself. Impressionism drew on the achievements of modern physics and made outstanding achievements in the representation of light and color.
