Features: The collective trademark referred to in this Law refers to a mark registered in the name of a group, association, or other organization, to be used by its members in commercial activities to indicate their membership in the organization. The certificate trademark referred to in this Law refers to a mark controlled by an organization with the ability to supervise certain goods or services, and used by units or individuals outside the organization on their goods or services, to prove the origin, raw materials, manufacturing method, quality, or other specific qualities of the goods or services. The 24th Session of the Standing Committee of the Ninth National People's Congress decided to amend the "Trademark Law of the People's Republic of China" as follows:
1. Article I is amended to read: "In order to strengthen trademark management, protect the exclusive right to use a trademark, promote producers and operators to ensure the quality of goods and services, maintain the reputation of trademarks, safeguard the interests of producers and operators, and promote the development of the socialist market economy, this Law is formulated."
2. Article 20 is changed to the second paragraph of Article 2: "The Administration for Industry and Commerce of the State Council establishes a Trademark Adjudication Committee, which is responsible for handling trademark disputes."
