Features: 2000 self-assessment and passing practice questions, repetitive exposure to high-frequency word usage environments, blending learning with practice, reinforcing memory through repetition, clever memorization and flexible application for high scores and high competence! In the writing process, we focused on the following aspects:
Repetitive testing to strengthen memory. Research shows that memorizing words requires repetition about 3-5 times. Therefore, the design of the exercises in this book particularly emphasizes this point: self-assessment questions, word explanations, passing practice questions, and answer keys are linked in a memory sequence. This ensures that there is both practice and memory, with memory reinforced through practice and vice versa. It not only consolidates knowledge but also expands it, while repeatedly exposing high-frequency vocabulary from both CET-6 and CET-4 exams. Through repeated testing and memory, the goal of memorization and usage is achieved.
Diverse exercise design. The design of exercises focuses on practicality, knowledge, and fun. Core vocabulary is given special attention. The words selected in this book are all core vocabulary from the new teaching syllabus and the most frequently tested words in previous years' exams. Their typical usage and fixed collocations are explained in detail. Most of the exercises are selected from previous CET-4 and postgraduate entrance exam papers.
Expanding word meaning from point to face. From key vocabulary, the book extends to its derivative and related words, helping readers understand the internal connections between meanings and link them together for memory. This approach, "from one to many," allows for a comprehensive grasp of vocabulary.
Breaking through word meaning, covering differentiation and translation. All exercises in this book include Chinese-English translations, with explanations for key vocabulary exercises. Thus, it is an ideal material for learning word usage, differentiating synonyms and near-synonyms, and staying updated on exam trends. It is also a valuable guide for improving reading and translation skills.
