The film is based on a Chinese folk legend, telling a mythological story of chivalry that punishes evil. To rescue their grandfather, who has been captured by the scorpion demon and the snake demon, they bravely enter the cave one after another, but are all defeated by the powerful and cunning demons. Later, with the help of their grandfather and the mountain god, the seven gourd children unite, work together, and finally defeat the demons.
