This collection revolves around the purpose of revitalizing the agricultural economy and serving "agriculture, rural areas, and farmers." It is divided into multiple series, including introductory, popular, and advanced series, using various writing styles such as declarative, Q&A, chart-based, and illustrated () formats to categorically introduce high-yield cultivation techniques for staple crops, cash crops, fruits, vegetables, as well as content related to animal husbandry, veterinary medicine, aquaculture, and agricultural product processing. The entire collection emphasizes "innovation" and prioritizes "practicality." The language is concise and accessible, the techniques are advanced and novel, the measures are effective and well-executed, and the methods are practical and feasible, aiming to make it easy for readers to understand, learn, and apply immediately. We hope this collection will play a significant role in promoting agricultural production, flourishing the rural economy, and helping farmers escape poverty. The leadership of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous People's Government and the Guangxi Press and Publication Administration have shown great concern for the publication of this collection, providing multiple instructions and valuable suggestions. We hereby express our heartfelt gratitude!
In urban and rural areas of China, duck and goose farming is very common. Taking Nanning City in Guangxi as an example, duck farming has been thriving, with an annual production of 3 to 4 million meat ducks. The large supply of duck and goose products in the market has not only increased farmers' income but also enriched urban residents' diets, playing a significant role in boosting the market and promoting social development. However, it is also important to note that if hygiene and disease prevention measures are not properly implemented when duck and goose farming expands, outbreaks of diseases can lead to high mortality rates and low survival rates, causing significant economic losses for farmers. In recent years, it has become increasingly common to see large numbers of ducklings die from certain diseases or widespread poisoning due to improper drug use.
The purpose of writing this book is to enable duck and goose farmers or specialized households to quickly master the diagnosis and treatment techniques for common and prevalent diseases through self-study, applying them to production practices to improve survival rates and reduce losses caused by diseases. The book is divided into four main parts: infectious diseases, parasitic diseases, toxic diseases, and vitamin and trace element deficiencies in ducks and geese. It focuses on introducing the diagnosis and treatment techniques for common, prevalent, and regional diseases, including identifying pathogens (causes), understanding epidemiological characteristics, distinguishing symptoms, grasping diagnostic key points, and applying effective prevention and treatment methods. The book is easy to understand and richly illustrated.
