Macau's tourism and gambling industries are highly developed. For many years, people of different ethnicities have coexisted here, and celebrations for both Western and Chinese festivals take place. Local Chinese people celebrate traditional folk festivals, such as the Lunar New Year and the Dragon Boat Festival, with great enthusiasm. Among these, the Spring Festival is the most lively. Starting from the night of the Chinese New Year's Eve and lasting until the early hours of the next day, numerous devotees visit the Ma Kok Temple to pay homage and pray for a smooth year ahead.
