Features: Food therapy, also known as medicinal diet therapy, is a product of the combination of medicine and food. Medicinal diet therapy is one of the traditional treatment methods in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). TCM holds that when a disease is severe, medicine should take the primary role while food should provide support. Proper nourishment after recovery is essential, with both medicine and food complementing each other, leveraging their respective strengths, and achieving synergy. In the implementation of food therapy, the principle of applying dietary treatment based on individual differences, symptoms, internal conditions, and geographical factors should be adhered to. Hyperlipidemia is a common and frequently occurring disease. In recent years, the incidence of hyperlipidemia has shown an increasing trend year by year. Hyperlipidemia can lead to various complications, such as atherosclerosis, coronary heart disease, hypertension, cerebrovascular diseases, fatty liver, diabetes, gallstones, obesity, reduced sexual function, and aging. This book briefly introduces the causes and symptoms of hyperlipidemia, as well as the properties, efficacy, and contraindications of commonly used Chinese herbal medicines and ingredients for medicinal diets. It collects nearly 300 traditional Chinese medicinal diet recipes for preventing and treating hyperlipidemia from historical records. Each recipe is proven effective, with minimal and high-quality ingredients, easy to obtain, and simple to prepare, while preserving the original essence of both medicine and food to maximize the inherent benefits of medicinal diets. The purpose of writing this book is to provide readers with convenient methods for disease prevention, treatment, and self-care.
