Features: From the main ideas of this book, the core concepts involved include: open teaching, the world of disciplines, possible worlds, the world of human spiritual and cultural experience, and the individual experience world of students. From the overall structure of the book, the core concepts involved include: open teaching, the open era, theoretical foundation, basic strategies, and main methods. The primary issue this book addresses is the closed and predetermined nature of traditional teaching. Due to an excessive emphasis on the stability and absoluteness of predetermined learning content, traditional teaching overlooks students' own genuine thoughts, existing life experiences, and the potential for creating new understanding. This confines students to predetermined cultural content and deprives them of the opportunity to create their own possible lives. Fundamentally, this is essentially only recognizing the ready-made world of human creation and striving to maintain the life ideals chosen by adults or authority figures, while ignoring the fact that children also have the right and ability to create their own spiritual lives. The reform efforts advocated in this book may appear somewhat challenging due to their pursuit of something beyond specific techniques. Some scholars, after studying a large number of school reforms, have pointed out that "the hardest to open core is the core of learning—the transformation of teaching practice and the transformation of teaching spirit" and that "changing teaching methods to learn more effectively requires a fundamental shift in the spirit of the school and its relationships with other institutions, which is an incredibly complex task."
