Features: With the gradual deepening of the national basic education curriculum reform, the implementation scope of the "Curriculum Standards" for compulsory education is expanding step by step. New educational concepts are being increasingly accepted by more educators and the public, and China's basic education is undergoing profound transformation. The core of this transformation, for teachers, is to change their role orientation; for students, it is to transform their learning methods. In line with this spirit, and to adapt to the deepening development of curriculum reform, when this book was revised for the second edition this year, we made significant updates based on extensive feedback from experts, teachers, students, and parents. The main revisions include: changing section titles and the writing format. After the revision, each text is equipped with sections such as "Text Analysis," "Learning and Practice Guidance," and "Linked Appreciation." The original character notes and word explanations have been removed to encourage students to use dictionaries independently, learn to use reference tools, and gain a deeper understanding of the texts. In the "Text Analysis" section, new additions include "Target Locking" and "Three-Point Analysis." These highlight the learning objectives and provide guidance on reading methods, aiming to teach with clear goals and guide learning with direction, gradually improving students' language proficiency. They also guide inquiry-based learning and practical activities. In the "Learning and Practice Guidance" section, emphasis is placed on ability training, combining accumulation with application and knowledge with skills to promote the transfer and enhancement of abilities. To provide more resources for students' independent, collaborative, and inquiry-based learning, each text also features a dedicated "Linked Appreciation" section. This section primarily offers learning references and research materials, introduces different perspectives on the same issue, and stimulates students' interest and critical thinking. Learning the "Curriculum Standards" and updating educational concepts is an ongoing process; the implementation of curriculum reform also requires continuous exploration and accumulation. The revision of this book is a concrete implementation of learning the "Curriculum Standards" and reforming teaching content and methods. We hope our efforts can bring practical and effective help to the teaching activities of teachers and students, and we also look forward to criticism and suggestions from educators and experts.
