Features: Basic Drawing Course Teaching from the Foundation Department of the Design College, Central Academy of Fine Arts. Humans' innate tendencies manifest everywhere, establishing various landmarks on the earth, which then become the center of the world. Huairou's Erdaoguan, Miyun's Wuling Mountain Villa, reservoirs, the Great Wall, and beacon towers are such landmarks. The thorns beneath the Great Wall leave traces on us, unsure whether they reject or welcome us. However, what is more important is the nature that exists independently of us. The images, sounds, scents, and colors of nature move us, quietly merging into our hearts. The sky and the earth, mountains and rivers, grass and trees, the wind, and the twinkling stars in the night sky all become unforgettable memories. Bonfires and singing are proof of youth's vitality in nature. We record, through color and line, the natural landscapes shaped by time, human labor, and their relationship with human settlements, discovering and exploring the formal elements in nature, capturing our perceptions of natural beauty, and developing our keen sensitivity and flexible creativity in content and form. If landmarks are the center of the world, then this free and vibrant perception is the center of our artistic world, the foundation of art and design. The sketches of first-year students from the Design College published here are the crystallization of such perceptions.
