Features: In recent years, the teaching level of journalism and communication in China has been continuously improving, but there is still a certain gap compared to developed countries. In today's world, the trend of globalization is unstoppable, which is particularly evident in mass communication media. With China's entry into the WTO, there is an even greater demand for journalism and communication education to promptly, comprehensively, and deeply reflect the dynamics of both domestic and international academia and industry, thereby narrowing the gap with the world's advanced levels as quickly as possible. Nowadays, teachers and students are no longer satisfied with merely reading translated versions of excellent foreign textbooks; they urgently desire access to authentic original versions. To quickly understand and absorb the latest research findings in foreign journalism and communication, and to enhance the level of teaching research and practical work in China's journalism and communication field, China Renmin University Press has selected classic textbooks widely used by renowned journalism and communication schools in the United States for original photoreproduction. The books selected for this series are authored by influential professors in the U.S. journalism and communication field, covering all important areas of journalism and communication. They comprehensively reflect the theoretical research level and practical exploration level in the U.S. field of journalism and communication, and have been widely welcomed by faculty and students of journalism and communication schools, as well as journalists, both in the U.S. and around the world. Most of these versions have been reprinted multiple times and have had a profound and lasting impact, becoming classic textbooks in journalism and communication. While introducing the authentic English original books, this series also translates the table of contents and author bios into Chinese as a supplementary guide for readers' reference. Following this series of photoreproduced English original books, China Renmin University Press will also continue to release their Chinese translations, allowing readers to compare and read both versions for greater benefits. During the process of book selection and deliberation, this series has received strong support and assistance from Professor Guo Qingguang, Dean of the School of Journalism and Communication at Renmin University of China, and Professor Zhang Yonghua of the School of Journalism and Communication at Shanghai International Studies University. Professor Zhan Jiang of the Journalism Department at China Youth University of Political Science has reviewed the translation of the table of contents. We extend our sincere respect and heartfelt gratitude to them all.
