The first three chapters primarily serve as preparation for the following five chapters, while also facilitating students in applying knowledge to practical work in the future. Chapter 4 covers the circuits of plate-making equipment. Although the integration of plate-making and advertising industries has become increasingly close in major cities, and computerization has become the trend, some small and medium-sized manufacturers still use traditional equipment. Therefore, this content is still presented as a separate chapter, as it holds typical significance for photoelectric and time control. Chapter 5 discusses the electrical principles of offset printing machines. When selecting materials, the focus is on the commonly used J2108 and J2201 machines domestically. Detailed explanations are provided for typical printing operations such as alarms, slow motion, constant speed, paper feeding, sheet feeding, fault control, reel control, and counting, aiming to illustrate the principles so that students can understand other similar mechanical systems. Chapter 6 introduces the electrical control of four-color offset printing machines, with the textbook primarily selecting the internationally renowned Heidelberg four-color offset printing machine, which also has representation in China. Chapter 7 mainly covers the computer control of printing machines, starting from the basic concepts of computer control and focusing on the currently common programmable logic controllers (PLCs) in printing machines. It provides a detailed introduction to the writing of commonly used PLC statements. Additionally, it introduces commonly used electrical components such as analog/digital and digital/analog converters, which will be needed for future networking. Chapter 8 introduces some common knowledge and principles of electrical maintenance for printing machines.
