Publish Date: 2005-03-01
Features: From the perspective of labor mobility, the author constructs a theoretical model of labor mobility's impact on regional economic development, exploring how labor mobility affects the dual characteristics and convergence conditions of regional economies. Based on an empirical analysis of the current state of labor mobility in China, the book proposes constructive policy recommendations to improve China's dual structure and promote coordinated regional development. The book primarily examines how the mobility of labor factors influences the economic development of both inbound and outbound regions, forming a theoretical framework on the impact of labor mobility on regional economic development. Building on this framework, the book conducts an empirical study on China's labor mobility situation. The book is divided into three parts, totaling six chapters. Part also refers to the chapter introduction. This chapter primarily addresses the reality and theory of labor mobility, highlighting the necessity and practical significance of the research. It briefly summarizes the current state of research by domestic and international scholars on the relationship between labor mobility and regional economic development, as well as the research approach, content, and methods of this book. Chapter 2 provides a simple introduction to traditional and modern theories of labor mobility and their models, offering a summary and analysis of the general theory of labor mobility. It examines the internal mechanisms through which labor mobility affects regional economic development under different theoretical assumptions, as well as the differences and varying perspectives of theories such as neoclassical economics and new economic geography. It further identifies the main factors influencing labor mobility. Chapter 3 begins to establish its own theoretical analysis framework, delving deeper into the internal mechanisms of labor mobility's impact on regional economic development. Chapter 4 primarily focuses on the capital and technology production factor effects of labor mobility, as well as regional growth effects, and the issues of regional economic development models and cooperation mechanisms between inbound and outbound regions. Chapter 5 analyzes the employment effects, income distribution effects, and personal return as well as corresponding price regional transmission mechanisms of labor mobility, forming an overall theoretical framework for analyzing the impact of labor mobility on regional economic development. Chapter 6 conducts an empirical analysis of the current state and role of labor mobility in China.
