Features: Network communication refers to the general term for communication activities mediated by the internet, while the systematic discipline that studies these activities is called Network Communication Studies. Network communication classification shares similarities with mass communication and can be categorized as: information dissemination (e.g., news, announcements), network advertising communication (or network marketing: advertising activities conducted using the internet as a platform, such as commercial communication mini-sites and Banner ads), network commodity transactions (utilizing the internet as a medium to disseminate commodity information and provide channels), and network cultural arts (including published works and peer-to-peer dissemination by ordinary citizens, as well as block-level replication, such as original Flash animations, unified-style interactive online forums, etc.). This book places network communication within the dual contexts of construction and deconstruction, comprehensively and deeply examining its concepts, developmental background and current status, communication models, communication characteristics, and its significance in communication studies. From perspectives such as cultural studies, public opinion studies, political science, psychology, semiotics, law, and ethics, the author rationally evaluates the impact of network communication on national and ethnic progress, social civilization, and individual development.
Finally, the author points out that in its current development, network communication still faces numerous issues, such as personal privacy rights, network copyright infringement, public information security, online pornography, and false information. To address these problems, the author proposes a series of countermeasures with significant practical implications, which hold great reference value for the better advancement of network communication in the 21st century.
