Author: PETS Examination Research Group
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2004-11-01
Features: This book is completely written according to the newly published examination syllabus and oral test samples by the Education Ministry's Examination Center. All the mock examination papers in this book have structures identical to the real tests, and the content is divided into three parts: Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3.
Part 1 involves the candidate's self-introduction, mainly covering daily-life language, where candidates are required to introduce their hometown, family, and answer simple questions about weather, etc.
Part 2 requires candidates to ask four to five questions based on the content of the pictures and respond to each other.
Part 3 involves candidates delivering a continuous expression based on the content of the pictures in their hands, while another candidate provides supplementary explanations.
By simulating the examination scene, this book aims to help PETS candidates comprehensively improve their English speaking ability, communication skills, and test-taking skills, enabling them to pass the oral examination with ease.
According to the latest examination syllabus, each oral test is conducted with two examiners and two candidates. However, when the number of candidates at a test site is odd, the last group of candidates should consist of three. To ensure candidates can perform confidently in both two-person and three-person test scenarios, the ten sets of mock examination papers in this book include nine standard two-person scenarios and one three-person scenario.
It should be noted that the scenarios and question-answer phrases provided by the author in the test papers are not exclusive. The ways of asking and answering may vary from person to person, and the scenarios can be unpredictable. Therefore, candidates should use this book flexibly and avoid rigidly applying it.
