Features: Educating children is a matter of great importance that spans generations. Today, society, schools, and families have never before placed such emphasis on children's education and growth. Publishers both domestically and internationally have turned their attention to the millions of parents who hope to see their children succeed, with many new "Essential Reads for Parents" books prominently displayed on shelves each year. However, when parents sift through various versions of parenting books, the result is that the books they purchase may not necessarily be suitable for educating their own children.
To address this, we have compiled and translated two Western books on parenting methods and philosophy—A Shift in Perspective Changes Your Child! and Excellence Is Taught—based on the needs of many parents and our own firsthand experience as parents. We referenced a wide range of educational content from books, newspapers, the internet, lectures, family counseling agencies, and more.
These two books have distinct focuses. The first primarily presents educational concepts and suggestions from Western experts for parents, while the second draws from the experiences of successful parents. Although Eastern and Western cultures differ, there are some differences in how children are raised. However, as China's reform and opening-up progresses further, its education system is also learning from and adopting beneficial foreign experiences, with many similarities in practice.
The parenting perspectives and methods introduced in these two books are indeed valuable for parents to learn from and reference. For example, the books advocate showing respect, tolerance, and appreciation for children from a young age, in every small detail and action, while understanding their inner world. They encourage children to learn through life, gain confidence from encouragement, patience from tolerance, gratitude from praise, self-love from acceptance, action from recognition, gratitude from sharing, truth from honesty, justice from fairness, respect from care, trust from protection, and kindness from love.
