Features: Since the publication of the Central Conservatory of Music Examination Textbooks for Piano (Domestic and Overseas) in 1993, they have been widely welcomed and recognized across various regions in China and some overseas areas. Their emergence aligns with the trend of the widespread and rapid development of piano education, providing systematic and standardized teaching materials for thousands of people eager to learn the piano. Through this series of textbooks, they have been exposed to outstanding Chinese and Western piano cultures, received standardized professional music education and training, and a considerable number of them have already become or are currently becoming forces for professional piano talent. This excellent teaching material has played a significant and irreplaceable role in enhancing the quality of music education for young people. However, with the deeper popularization of piano education and societal progress, we, along with the teachers and students participating in amateur piano examinations, have gradually sensed the shortcomings and limitations of this teaching material. Imagine using the same fixed examination textbooks unchanged for five years—this in itself fosters dependency in students. In fact, this model of four pieces for each level has already led to some problems. Now, our experts have newly compiled the "Piano (Amateur) Examination Textbook." This new textbook is born from the summary and continuous improvement of the old one, changing the previous practice of dividing pieces into two sets (A and B) and adopting a classification by different series to expand the range of pieces, thus giving teachers and students more choices. Among them, we have also retained some excellent pieces that have been proven to be highly valuable in teaching practice over the past few years. Combined with the newly selected materials, they will help enhance the flexibility, diversity, and interest of piano learning. The use of this textbook will play a certain role in broadening students' knowledge and improving their adaptability. With the birth of the new textbook, the methods of piano examinations will undergo some changes in the future. We will announce the examination pieces and requirements at an appropriate time before the examination. Of course, we will still allow candidates ample time for practice, but it will no longer be the "ten years in advance" approach. It is evident that the birth of this new textbook marks a significant improvement in the overall level of examination standards in our country.
