It combines the excellent business practices of the top 500 Western companies with practical cases from Chinese enterprises to systematically analyze the mechanisms of corporate sustainable development from the perspective of capability, yielding highly valuable findings.
Using inductive methods, the book constructs the POSTEN model—a corporate capability combination model that influences and determines sustainable development through literature research, questionnaire surveys, and other empirical analytical methods. Employing deductive methods, it reveals the dynamic adaptation relationship between the POSTEN model and the corporate life cycle through questionnaire surveys, field research, and case studies, identifying the dominant capabilities at each stage of the life cycle and proposing an evolutionary path for capability combinations to achieve sustainable development. The book quantitatively assesses the corporate life cycle and conducts an empirical analysis of 1,135 Chinese listed companies. It also uncovers the dynamic evolutionary patterns of each capability within the POSTEN model across different life cycle stages. Finally, it compares and analyzes domestic and international corporate competitiveness evaluation systems, exploring pathways to enhance the competitiveness of Chinese enterprises.
