Features: "Health Assessment" is a textbook in nursing discipline that guides modern nursing theory, assessing patients, psychology, and society as a holistic system. The purpose of this course is to enable students to master correct health assessment skills, clinical judgment skills, and establish scientific clinical nursing thinking methods. Based on modern nursing models and professional training objectives, this book reasonably selects and integrates nursing assessment content with medical specialty "Diagnostics" from clinical nursing practice. It maintains the systematic knowledge of clinical nursing while differing in overall structure and content from "Diagnostics" in clinical medicine, facilitating students in mastering health assessment and clinical judgment skills. The book emphasizes applied knowledge and skills in nursing practice, highlighting the application of humanities in clinical nursing. For modern clinical diagnostic skills, it starts from clinical nursing practice, making it easier to implement in practice and facilitating the update of clinical nursing knowledge. In health assessment, it emphasizes the cultivation of scientific thinking methods for students, improving their analytical and judgmental abilities to avoid inappropriate nursing assessments. The basic theories and concepts in the textbook are designed to be complete and clear. The book is divided into eight parts: Collection of Health History, Physical Assessment, Laboratory Tests, Electrocardiogram Examination, Imaging Tests, Endoscopic Examination, Nursing Diagnosis and the Application of Scientific Thinking in Health Assessment, and Nursing Charting. At the end, there are 2 original patient narratives of health conditions for students to analyze and judge, learning to master scientific thinking methods. This textbook is suitable for undergraduate nursing and nursing specialty students upgrading from associate degrees. Due to the novelty of writing a textbook for medical higher education students upgrading to "Health Assessment," there are limited references and materials to consult, and given our limited expertise, this book inevitably has certain shortcomings and imperfections in both form and content. We sincerely hope that the and readers using this textbook will provide valuable feedback to improve it continuously and enhance the quality of the textbook.
