Features: To facilitate the social art level assessment work deployed by the Ministry of Culture, to provide candidates with convenient options for preparing for assessment levels and professional advancement, this series of books has been specially compiled according to the specific regulations of the art and calligraphy assessment syllabus. This series covers eleven professional categories within the scope of the assessment syllabus: Chinese freehand flower-and-bird painting, Chinese meticulous flower-and-bird painting, Chinese freehand landscape painting, Chinese freehand figure painting, sketching, figure quick sketch, watercolor painting, tempera painting, oil painting, and Chinese calligraphy, as well as hard-tip calligraphy, etc. Each category is divided into two volumes: the assessment syllabus sample illustrations and the corresponding professional techniques. Most of the compilation work for this series was carried out by senior examiners appointed by the Ministry of Culture, who are highly influential experts in their respective fields both domestically and internationally. The sample illustrations were personally drawn by these experts and, finally, reviewed and approved by the assessment center's review committee. The sample illustration books for each level list multiple works, allowing candidates to understand the range of assessment works and the specific requirements of the syllabus. The technique books serve as supplementary teaching materials for the sample illustration books, with typical works selected for each level and illustrated with step-by-step diagrams showing specific painting methods. Some of them also include photographs of live subjects, demonstrations of painting postures, and the use of art supplies. Detailed explanatory text is provided for each step, aiming to offer strong guidance for candidates in various disciplines to study and research.
As a foundational project, the social art level assessment is a supporting initiative for the Ministry of Culture's triennial "Starlight Award" evaluation program. Therefore, the assessment of artistic proficiency and basic standards in each category requires Level 8 to meet the admission standards for art majors in national universities, Level 9 to qualify for provincial and municipal selections in the "Starlight Award" exhibition, and Level 10 to achieve winning status in the provincial and municipal selections of the "Starlight Award" exhibition.
