The second part elevates the struggle between mice and humans to a competition between humans themselves. Daogu's descendants transform into humans, known as "Dongguo," the "mouse-human." He becomes entangled in the conflict between Qin Tian, the head of the Aicheng mouse-catching bureau, and Ximen, the editor-in-chief of the Truth and Truth Newspaper. Trapped in hatred, he plays the role of a savior. Unaware of human society, he ultimately fails to save them. However, due to his selflessness and lack of desire, he establishes himself as a spiritual leader in Aicheng during the mouse plague, becoming the savior and ruler of the city. But because he complies with the ruthless slaughter of mice, he ultimately becomes a mouse again.
