Features: In Western art teaching, it is common to delve directly into the fundamental elements of visual beauty, emphasizing abstraction. This approach undoubtedly benefits students in training their response and expressive abilities to visual effects. However, this method also has its shortcomings. Without an object, there is a loss of a common reference point between teachers and students. Additionally, a long-term detachment from concrete aspects of real life can make any form of creation appear hollow. I believe that with an object, teachers can assess whether students grasp the basic artistic language of form, color, proportion, and black-and-white relationships during the process of depicting images. At the same time, this approach consistently highlights the essential role of abstraction in artistic expression, encouraging students to observe objects and compositions with an abstract aesthetic perspective. This ensures that when depicting each part, students not only adhere to the fundamental principles of form but also meet the compositional needs of the overall picture.
