Features: From the experience of international exchanges, the teaching process of the Central Academy of Fine Arts' School of Fine Arts, where first-year students focus on fundamentals, upper-level students enter studios, and finally complete graduation projects, is quite reasonable. It is formulated according to scientific principles and has been tested through practice. In the entire teaching system, basic education is a step and a very critical link. If this link is too loose, it will lead to weak fundamental skills in students, greatly affecting their future studies. If it is too tight, it may easily trap students in a rut of conservatism, which is more disadvantageous than beneficial for their future creativity. Therefore, in the basic teaching of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, there has been continuous exploration of how to reform and innovate teaching, avoiding the use of a conveyor-belt approach to standardize every student's individuality. While helping students build a solid foundation in, it also strengthens training in expressiveness and appreciation. We have always tried to find this balance in basic teaching, engaging in extensive discussions and practice. This series will showcase this exploration process, hoping to offer inspiration to those on the path of art and also serve as a platform for discussion with professionals in the field of Chinese art education.
