Author Xie Liwen, a renowned Hong Kong writer and the creator of the "Ma Dou Ma Mai" series, is also the publisher of the children's magazine "Huang Ba." "Shi Lao Ren" is his alternative work outside the "Ma Dou Ma Mai" series, like the far side of the moon. Shi Lao Ren and Ma Mai are starkly different yet intimately connected.
This volume, "On the Way," tells a story about Singapore, filled with witty satire, yet ending in a twist of bittersweet sorrow. Through the poetic language of these Shi Lao Ren stories, readers touch upon life's profound yet often overlooked philosophies, evoking both sorrow and deep emotional resonance.
