Features: "The Oxford Storyland English Reading Series" is a children's English reading book. The complete set consists of sixteen volumes, each containing two to four stories. The selected stories are lively and interesting, closely related to daily life. The overall design is rich in illustrations and vivid, with clear and intuitive visuals. Levels 1A to 3B are primarily dialogue-based, while levels 4A to 8B are primarily narrative-based. To assist readers, each story is followed by "Vocabulary and Phrases" and "Sentence Pattern Notes"; each volume also includes "Answer Key" at the end for easy reference. The entire series is thoughtfully organized, with rich content, bright colors, and elegant text. Reading is a crucial part of English learning. The "National English Curriculum Standards" issued by the Ministry of Education places great emphasis on students' reading training, providing detailed goal descriptions for the nine levels of reading skills and setting clear requirements for extracurricular reading volume from levels 3 to 8. To effectively implement the curriculum standards and meet the reading needs of primary and secondary school students, we have revised the original "Oxford Storyland." The new "Oxford Storyland English Reading Series" is tailored to the cognitive characteristics of primary and secondary school students and aims to achieve the following goals:
1. Stimulate students' interest in learning. This series consists of sixteen volumes, each containing two to four stories. It is organized based on the psychological characteristics of students at different age groups, with levels 1A to 3B primarily dialogue-based and levels 4A to 8B primarily narrative-based. The selected stories are lively and relevant to students' daily lives. The plot-driven and life-oriented content, combined with exquisite illustrations and real photographs, fully engages students' interest in learning, fosters a positive learning attitude, and allows them to deeply experience the joy of learning English.
2. Enhance students' reading skills. The series covers a wide range of themes, genres, and content, with a high volume of English information, integrating knowledge, fun, science, and a sense of the times. To effectively help students improve their reading skills, each story is followed by exercises and tests on the text content, as well as annotations on vocabulary and sentence patterns. Through reading, students can analyze and understand language materials, capture and process information in the text, and develop their English thinking, association, judgment, and inference skills.
3. Improve students' cultural literacy. While helping students acquire English knowledge, this series maximally broadens their cultural horizons, allowing them to naturally absorb rich cultural influences. To some extent, it deepens their understanding of foreign customs and culture, gradually cultivating cross-cultural awareness, which is crucial for their future English learning.
Each volume of this series is self-contained, with difficulty progressing progressively from one level to the next. It can be used alongside "Oxford Primary English" or as supplementary reading material for extracurricular or classroom learning.
