Features: From the experience of international exchanges, the teaching approach of the Central Academy of Fine Arts' School of Fine Arts, where first-year students focus on foundational studies, upper-level students enter workshops, and finally undertake graduation projects, is relatively reasonable. It is formulated based on scientific principles and has been tested through practice. In the entire teaching system, basic education is a step and a very crucial link. If this link is too loose, it will lead to weak fundamental skills in students, greatly affecting their future studies. If it is too tight, it may easily trap students in the mire of conservatism, which will be more detrimental than beneficial to their future creations. Therefore, in the basic education at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, there has been continuous exploration of how to reform and innovate teaching, avoiding the use of a conveyor belt-like approach to standardize every student's individuality. While helping students build a solid foundation in, it also strengthens training in expressiveness and appreciation. We have always strived to find this balance in basic education, engaging in extensive discussions and practical efforts. This series will showcase this exploration process, hoping to offer some inspiration to those seeking their path in the arts, while also serving as a platform for discussion with professionals in the field of Chinese art education.
