Features: In the summer of the northern region, there is a wild grass with golden yellow flowers spreading across the boundless plains. Northerners call it huanghua (yellow flower), while southerners call it jinjin (golden needle). Its scientific name is Hemerocallis. According to the Bomwuzhi, the daylily is said to bring joy and forget worries and sorrows, hence its name "wanguyicao" (worry-forgetting grass). We are like those who have eaten the forget-me-not grass, forgetting past sorrows and cherishing beautiful memories. In our story, there is more than just the passion of the black soil, the care of family and friends, the maturity brought by life's hardships, and the strong, independent will forged through arduous labor. Somewhere along the way, we have come to treasure that experience as a precious part of our lives.
The author describes the events during his time in the Heilongjiang province through simple, heartfelt language. There are no elegant words or ornate phrases—only the sincerity of the past and the reflections of the present. Through his personal experiences, the author takes people back to that distant era.
