There is a story about the origin of One Thousand and One Nights. It is said that the king of the Sasanian kingdom was named Shanruyal. Due to his queen's betrayal, he was so angry that he killed her. After that, he would marry a young woman every day as his queen and have her executed the next day. The daughter of the prime minister, Shanruozhe, cleverly devised a plan. Upon entering the palace, she told the king an interesting story every night, and she continued this for one thousand and one nights until she finally moved the king. Not only did the king not kill her, but he also made her his queen, and they lived happily together from then on. This story not only spread to Egypt but was also widely popular in Greece, India, China, and other regions, beloved by people of all ages and social classes. It can be called the "Bible" of the Islamic world. The Voyages of Sindbad the Sailor consists of seven nautical stories, and this book selects five of them.
