Features: This textbook includes twelve chapters. Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 discuss theoretical issues of international law, focusing on the sources of international law, the relationship between international law and domestic law, and the subjects and responsibility of states. Chapters 3 and 4 address one of the objects of international law—individuals, with human rights issues being treated as a separate chapter due to its importance in contemporary international relations. Chapters 5, 6, and 7 cover the other object of international law—territory and space, with a focus on maritime law. The last five chapters deal with methods and conduct of international interaction. In the chapter on international organizations, general rules of international organizations and non-governmental international organizations are included. The methods of peaceful settlement of international disputes include the UN's approach to dispute resolution under political methods. In the law of war, issues rarely encountered in modern armed conflicts have been omitted.
