Features: Since the publication of Chinese-Japanese Clinical Conversations in Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1998, it has been well-received by Chinese and Japanese medical professionals interested in clinical conversations. However, the lack of corresponding audio tapes has caused inconvenience for learners. Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Press has once again included the audio tapes in the publishing plan, which is undoubtedly welcomed by readers. Chinese-Japanese Clinical Conversations in Clinical Practice is based on the original Chinese-Japanese Clinical Conversations in Traditional Chinese Medicine, with adjustments to the content to focus on the common conversational patterns between doctors and patients during diagnosis and treatment. It selects 50 common clinical conditions, each covering the entire process of patient visits, doctor’s inquiries, prescriptions, and treatments. The conversations are arranged as much as possible in the form of situational dialogues to closely match real clinical scenarios, and all vocabulary is annotated with pronunciation. The conversations are read by two exchange students from Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Imai Kazuyoshi and Yoshida Mayo, to reflect the Japanese conversational habits of TCM and teach authentic TCM Japanese. Due to differences in customs and cultural habits between China and Japan, as well as the profound and unique theories of TCM, some habitual expressions and TCM terms are difficult to find accurate equivalents. In such cases, the editors have used translations that are closest in meaning while preserving the original intent.
