Features: Vehicle optimization scheduling research in foreign countries has been widely applied in various aspects of production and life, such as newspaper delivery and route optimization, milk delivery and delivery route optimization, vehicle loading and route design for phone book orders, garbage truck route optimization and garbage station location optimization, and delivery and route optimization for chain stores, etc. Currently, the research level has made significant progress, and its theoretical achievements have been applied not only in the field of automotive transportation but also in areas such as shipping, aviation, communications, power, industrial management, and computer applications. It is also used for flight attendant shift scheduling, optimization design of cargo delivery and port operations by shipping companies, transportation vehicle route planning, and various combinatorial optimization problems in production systems, such as planning and control.
In China, systematic research on this issue is still relatively rare. In recent years, the author and the research team have undertaken research projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China's "Scientific Scheduling of Urban Freight Trucks" and "Research on the Theory and Application of Freight Vehicle Scheduling Optimization," as well as Sichuan Province's Key Soft Science Project "Concentrated Optimization Scheduling Research on Urban Freight Trucks." They have conducted systematic research on the fundamental theories and various problems of vehicle optimization scheduling, developed a geographic information system-based visual logistics distribution vehicle optimization scheduling software package, which was released at the 2nd China Hi-Tech Fair in Shenzhen in November 2000 and received praise and attention; published more than 30 related papers; and won a second prize for scientific and technological progress at the provincial or ministerial level. In 2001, they also obtained the National Natural Science Foundation project "Dynamic Vehicle Routing under Uncertain Information."
This book primarily presents the research achievements of the National Natural Science Foundation project "Research on the Theory and Application of Freight Vehicle Scheduling Optimization" (Project No. 79700019). In multiple research projects, a batch of achievements have been obtained, but this book only reflects one aspect. During the research and writing of the manuscript, a large number of domestic and international literature were referenced, and the manuscript also reflects the current international cutting-edge developments in related fields. The research content in this field is very broad, and there are many aspects not covered in this book. It is hoped that breakthroughs will be achieved in new research projects.
