Features: The Contemporary Chinese Literature New Works Ranking initiated by Beijing Literature has now lasted for six years. Since then, various rankings with numerous titles have followed suit. But under the reputation of being a "prestigious literary magazine," Beijing Literature has continued to compile this annual ranking, undoubtedly still adhering to its "authority" principle. Unlike previous years, this time we did not simply republish the ranking in the magazine but collected it into a book—the book holds treasures for those who seek them. Despite the clamor in the literary world today, with various factions and genres stepping onto the stage, each showcasing their skills, we believe our judgment remains unique. These renowned masterpieces recommended by authoritative literary journals may not be an absolute discovery of gold (there will inevitably be omissions and missed gems), but they are at least ninety percent accurate. Thus, in this book, you can enjoy the finest literary works from around the world.
One publication once said: Reading good novels is an enjoyment. So, read on! This book includes the best works of middle fiction, short fiction, reportage, and essays. It features stories such as "The Love of Xiao Wang," "White Snow Pork Head," and "Petal Rice" among others.
