Features: The United States, as the most economically and educationally advanced country in the world today, has been highly attractive to young people in China since the early 1980s. Moreover, the U.S. possesses scholarship systems, an inexhaustible demand for employment, and a favorable work environment—advantages that other destinations lack. As a result, the current trend of studying in the U.S. shows no signs of cooling down but is rather becoming more specialized, multi-layered, and youth-oriented. Like the other volumes in the "Skating to Study in the U.S." series by Tianyi Yang, this book primarily addresses common questions students have about studying in the U.S. in four key stages: preparing (helping you understand the U.S.), taking off (application processes and language exams), ascending (visas and other procedures), and landing (preparing for and living in the U.S.).
Given the substantial yet uneven number of books on studying in the U.S. in the market, some of which have even misled students, this book avoids spending excessive space on basic information unrelated to studying abroad, opting instead to focus on the most crucial issues directly relevant to students' applications, exams, visas, and daily life. Additionally, all answers in this book are based on the author's long-term interactions with students heading to the U.S. and the real experiences of fellow Chinese students who have studied and lived there. Therefore, the discussions on some key issues may differ from vague or overly generalized viewpoints. The author hopes readers will carefully consider these nuances, as even subtle differences reflect considerable effort.
The tables in the main text of this book were all created by the author, who spent years collecting, organizing, and verifying them. The tables in the appendix are based on relevant sources and are primarily intended to provide convenience for readers.
