From a macro perspective, the series grasps the overall structure and enriches its content. It increases the number of volumes for painters, themes, and forms and genres that are popular among contemporary audiences and possess aesthetic vitality. Experienced painters and art theorists with rich teaching backgrounds contribute necessary introductions. As far as possible, supplementary content is attached in line with the exemplary purpose to bridge the gap between readers and the masterpieces.
The continuity, dating, authenticity, and quality of ancient works are prominent academic issues that cannot be avoided when compiling this series. Based on the exemplary purpose, we generally follow established scholarly views. Here, we briefly outline the editorial work of the series and sincerely hope to continue receiving the attention and support of readers. We aim to create opportunities for more people to understand traditional Chinese painting art, allowing Rongbaozhai Painting Series: Ancient Part to once again become a nourishing soil for the development of national painting art. It should play its role in promoting traditional spirit and creating Chinese paintings that meet people's needs and embody contemporary aesthetics.
