Contemporary American Investment Research

Author: Wang Xuewu
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2001-06-01
Features: The perspective of this book is focused on the macro and meso aspects of U.S. investment, and the research on micro-level corporate and household investments is not included within the scope of this study. Additionally, the research primarily emphasizes tangible fixed asset investments. This arrangement has several considerations. One reason is that the author primarily wants to explore the experiences and lessons that U.S. investment operations and management practices can provide for China's macro and meso-level investment management. Another reason is due to practical difficulties in collecting and conducting surveys, the author had to avoid certain areas. Although the research is primarily centered on fixed asset investments, in this knowledge economy era, we have conducted preliminary studies on research and development investments in generating new knowledge and venture capital in transforming knowledge into productivity. Such research has provided some help in explaining the operation of the U.S. economy since the 1990s.
