Acknowledging the wealth gap in human society is important. Based on this, we can understand what kind of society and system we need, what kind of culture, and what kind of civilization we pursue.
An ideal, vibrant, and humane society is not one without a wealth gap, but one where the wealth gap is kept within the range acceptable to all members of society.
In fact, a moderate wealth gap has a strong motivating and guiding effect on members of society.
Although the poor will always be the majority of society, the proportion of the rich can grow freely, and the poor always have the opportunity to become rich.
Moreover, in such a society, the poor appear as property owners, and their private property is protected just as well as that of the rich.
We do not advocate eliminating the wealth gap between people as a goal because it can only lead to universal poverty and individual wealth, or even the wealth of a few individuals. This would indeed be a great misfortune for humanity.
What gives us joy is that our society today is moving toward the ideal, vibrant, and humane society we envision.
At the same time, we are actively willing to advocate a social culture and civilization that treats the poor kindly, understands the rich, and respects everyone's rights.
Especially for a country like ours, where the market economy is rapidly developing today, this is clearly necessary. The poor, as a vulnerable group in society, have every right to receive more care, support, help, and understanding.
Compassion and empathy for the weak are inherent in human nature, but this good quality is gradually disappearing in many modern people.
The "survival of the fittest" animal law should not be extended to human social life. Otherwise, disaster will surely befall humanity, and this disaster will indeed be man-made.
Respecting the rich is progress in our society; at the same time, understanding and helping the poor is even greater progress in our society.
