Features: This book has a wide scope of application and can serve as a practical guide for financial and accounting personnel in the tourism and catering industry to handle accounting matters. It can also be used as a new textbook and teaching reference for accounting courses in tourism and catering for higher vocational and technical colleges. Additionally, it serves as a reference book for self-study and for taking various accounting professional exams. The book is divided into twelve chapters, covering general principles, the accounting for financial elements, and financial statements. For financial elements, it is structured into ten chapters: monetary funds and foreign currency transactions, accounts receivable and advances, inventory, investments, fixed assets and other assets, liabilities, owner's equity, income and expenses, and profit. This structure is designed based on the following considerations: First, it starts with general principles and expands into the six accounting elements, finally returning to financial statements. Second, it takes into account the daily nature of foreign currency transactions in tourism and catering businesses, providing a dedicated chapter on the accounting for foreign currency transactions. Third, considering the similarities between short-term and long-term investments, they are combined into a single chapter titled "Investments," serving as a link between chapters on current and non-current assets. Fourth, recognizing that both income and expenses are ultimately transferred to "Profit," they are combined into a single chapter titled "Income and Expenses." Fifth, from the perspective of clear and logical organization, the formation and distribution of profit are combined into a single chapter titled "Profit." The book incorporates the author's extensive experience in accounting teaching and practical work, making it easy to understand and highly summarized. It provides detailed and thorough explanations of some difficult issues, as if you were in a classroom. It closely aligns with the new accounting system, offering an overview of accounting items first, followed by detailed explanations of their account settings and financial processing, and then examples for illustration. The approach is clear, and the examples are abundant.
